Exploratorium's The Art of Tinkering Pop-up Shop
Welcome to the Exploratorium’s The Art of Tinkering Pop-Up Shop!
The Tinkering Studio® is a studio within the Exploratorium that’s dedicated to learning through exploration and creative expression. You can sew, hammer, solder, hack, wire, screw, glue, knit, tack, paint, stencil, cut, fuse, drill, and play your way to new insights into how the world works.
In 2014, the Tinkering Studio, Exploratorium, and Coursera are teaming up for a free online course called Tinkering Fundamentals: Integrating Making Activities into Your STEM Classroom. This course will excite you, inspire you, and get you and your students tinkering in no time through hands-on creative activities.
In this online pop-up shop—an offshoot of the Exploratorium Store—you’ll find The Art of Tinkering, a visually stunning book (with a hackable cover!) that showcases the work of some of the most exciting tinkerers creating today. Before the Coursera class begins, you’ll also find packs of materials you can use to recreate the activities in the book and online course.
Every purchase helps to support the Exploratorium and its educational mission. Thank you for visiting. Now go forth and tinker!
The online Exploratorium Store is re-launching this summer and will be bigger and better than ever! To make sure you don’t miss the launch, and to receive news about upcoming store promotions, enter your email address here. We won’t share your information with other organizations.
